Planting, growing and creating habitats
There is no greater sense of joy than that generated by a child’s direct connection with the earth and seeing things grow. Also observing fauna in their natural habitats stimulates curiosity and wonder in our young learners.
SOuL’s bespoke designs for ponds, beds and habitats provide powerful and experiential science, botany and ecology learning in your own school environment. They can be designed and installed in almost all areas and terrain.
As well as the benefits of curriculum based teaching and learning, such facilities allow learners of all ages to demonstrate both teamwork and responsibility in their peer groups. We work with many schools where the produce grown is either sold to the school community or used within the school’s own kitchen.
By working together to keep the areas both clean, tidy and healthy, they are able to link hard work with results, and make direct connections with global sustainability and environmental themes and issues.
These areas can also benefit from rustic furniture and seating to help with formal teaching sessions, poly tunnels for propagation, installing fencing, platforms and access gates for safety and storage sheds to house tools, materials and resources.
