Deliver first class Character Education (TLC)…
…with our range of teacher-led, in school resources and activities.
At SOuL we believe that character education should be an integral part of the co-curricular, pastoral and life skills elements of what all schools provide and deliver for their pupils. Too often these activities are outsourced to third party organisations and provided as part of one off residential off-site trips. We call it ‘Teaching with TLC’ (Teamwork, Leadership and Communication) and our 2 resource packs ensure that it can be delivered by your own staff. Thus enabling high quality, progressive programmes of character education for all ages from KS1 to Post 16. Option 1 – The Loose Parts ‘PAC’
The SOul Team are delighted to unveil their latest exciting and highly versatile product to support outdoor play and learning in all schools and for children of all ages. We call it the ‘Loose Parts PAC’ concept. It consists of a large number of items such as Accoya planks and boxes, ropes tarps, poles, mats, tubes etc. The PAC acronym concept then extends into 3 key areas of use:
Play – all of the items can be used for periods of supervised play by children of all ages (but primarily up to KS3). Structures, shelters, imaginative games, puzzles, collaborative activities and creative role play are all available to your pupils with the addition of these resources.
Assembly – the boxes and planks are designed so that they can then easily slot together to create temporary seating and teaching spaces of all shapes and sizes. They take minutes to set up and are just as easy to disassemble too.
Character Teaching – the equipment can then also be used as part of a suite of over 30 team-based, problem-solving tasks and activities.
Option 2 – Arbojo Pack for Teacher Led Teambuilding
Arbojo provides powerful, portable learning. Our ultimate collection of team building, leadership and communication tasks. Based on 20 years’ experience working in team and leadership development. Arbojo enables ‘teacher led team building’ to take place with your pupils in your own school grounds and buildings. Arbojo tasks range from short energiser exercises to longer more complex activities. They also vary in style from practical, cerebral, creative and interpersonal tasks.
The packs include:
Over 120 activities and 75+ hours of activity time (in each pack).
KS1 to post 16 progression across 2 separate packs.
Laminated activity briefs, facilitator notes & detailed guidance.
A 90 litre, portable holdall containing equipment for all tasks.
Arbojo Midi – for KS1 to KS3.

Teamwork, Leadership and Communication (TLC)
Lots of our school clients are using our resources above for developing progressive, structured and powerful curricula to enable an ‘in-house’, self-sufficient approach to teaching for character. Approaches vary in different schools, such as:
Building relationships within weekly tutor time
Exploring core themes within a creative PSHE curriculum such as empathy, diversity, resilience, co-operation and positive attitudes.
Incorporating them into a character award scheme where skills such as leadership, collaboration, effective planning, critical thinking amongst others can be measured and assessed (with certification).
Using them as powerful and effective activity days to build strong year groups off at the beginning of a new academic year.
Exploring great team roles and dynamics in a slightly more abstract setting within sports teams.
Older year groups designing and facilitating team building and leadership sessions for younger years.
As great activities for in-house staff team building events and sessions.
