Large Sand Pit

We believe in the power of immersive play. This extends to sand play with our large pits that children can get into move around in alone or in small groups for a full sensory/tactile experience. Up to 6m square in a large box frame or we can go much bigger if frames are not required. We then fix accoya planks to the top perimeter sections for a smoother finish. We would use playgrade sand to a depth of at least 300mm throughout. The final touch is to add open out flaps to the entire area. These are permanently attached just inside the top section of the retaining border. They can be opened out when the pit is use and catch the inevitable sand overflow. Then, when the covers are folded back across, when the pit is not in use, the sand is caught and easily scooped back in.
